FIC Urges Attendance at Decision America Rally Sept. 1st

Franklin Graham is the beloved eldest son of evangelist Billy and Ruth Graham. He is the current President of Samaritan’s purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Graham has devoted his life to sharing the gospel in worldwide crusades and aiding the poor and needy in over 100 countries.

Franklin Graham believes America is currently at a crossroads and Christians must take every opportunity to stand up for the things of God and His word. The desire to stand up for faith in America has lead Graham to travel to all 50 states in 2016 for a Decision America Tour.

The Decision America Tour will be holding prayer rallies in every state. During these rallies Graham will share the gospel message and challenge Christians to take action. He will encourage believers to vote, to live out their faith in society and to earnestly pray for God to restore hope to America.

On Thursday, September 1st at12pm Graham and his team will be at the Capitol in Hartford, CT. Before the rally date there are many ways for individuals and churches to get involved. A Decision America Tour Facebook page has been created for Connecticut. The Facebook page is designed to organize and facilitate local prayer meetings and rallies in our state. You can add local or state prayer requests, share ideas and invite others to pray with you for Connecticut. The Facebook page is also the place to get the latest information on prayer events in CT leading up to the September 1st rally at the Capitol.

The Decision America Tour has also created a 30 day prayer calendar for Connecticut. The prayer calendar provides daily scriptures and exhortations to pray for our government officials, churches and the residents of our state. The calendar is a great tool for believers to pray individually and also for churches to pray together in preparation for the rally.

In addition to praying for the event, there are multiple volunteer opportunities available. Some volunteer opportunities are available before the event to increase participation and some are for the day of the event. Volunteers can distribute promotional materials in their community prior to the Capitol Prayer Rally and help organize groups from their churches to attend. Volunteers must be 18 years or age or older. For more information on volunteering, visit the ‘Take Action’ page on their website. The website also has an online pledge believers can take to honor God and their country.

Franklin Graham shares this message, “Because Jesus Christ is the only hope for America (1 Corinthians 3:11), we call our nation to God and pray for His forgiveness and blessing (2 Chronicles 7:14) and for the liberty and freedom to continue to proclaim His Name until He returns (2 Corinthians 4:5). Will you stand with us in fervent prayer for our nation?”

Please join believers throughout Connecticut at the Capitol Prayer Rally September 1st at 12pm.
