On April 11, 2025 the State Bond Commission voted to borrow $2,020,096 for renovations to a building in New London for Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. The Commission includes Governor Lamont and many top executives from the State of Connecticut. This large amount was borrowed despite records from 2024 showing that in 2023, PPSNE had an endowment fund of $47,010,117 (95.76% unrestricted). It also comes on top of “emergency funding” of $800,000 given to Planned Parenthood earlier in the session to stockpile pills to disproportionately abort Black and Hispanic babies in CT. Taxpayers of the State of Connecticut are borrowing money to give to Planned Parenthood when they have so much already.

From 2022 to 2023, PPSNE’s CEO received a wage increase of $41,823, their “Chief Equity and Learning Officer”, an increase of $38,321.  The Commission voted to borrow money to make basic building repairs while PPSNE found money to fund generous wage increases for top staff. This is a continued misuse of state funds for an extremist agenda on abortion.

Connecticut mothers and babies need your support this session to oppose a bill that will eliminate regulations that track the disproportionate effect of abortion on some communities in Connecticut. Please contact your legislators and ask them to oppose HB 7213.
