Love Saves Lives is the theme for this year!

It’s that time of year again! The 45th annual March for Life is just a week away. This year’s event is being held on Friday, January 19th, at the National Mall – 12th Street in Washington, D.C. The event opens at 11:30am with a musical performance by artist Plumb. The Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, plans to address the audience at the rally which starts at 12pm. In addition the rally program includes speakers: Pam Tebow (NFL/MLB star Tim Tebow’s mother), former NFL player Matt Birk, Sister of Life’s Sr., Bethany Madonna, U.S Representatives Dan Lipinski (D-IL) and Chris Smith (R-NJ) among others.

March for Life President Jeanne Mancici said in a statement,

It is an honor to have Speaker of the House Paul Ryan address the 45th annual March for Life.Speaker Ryan has been an unwavering champion for the pro-life cause since taking office, and continues to utilize his post to promote the inherent dignity of the human person at all stages of life.”

The theme of the 2018 March for Life is ‘Love Saves Lives’. It’s a fitting theme for a pro-life movement that is continually reaching others through acts of compassionate love. Sidewalk counselors, pregnancy center workers, adoption agencies, campus pro-life groups and others actively demonstrate love to women, children and men impacted by abortion. This march is a time to declare that message to the world, letting them know protecting life is a loving act.

After the rally program ends at 1pm, March for Life attendants can continue walking up Constitution Avenue to the Supreme Court and Capitol Building. At 3pm there will be testimonies from post-abortive women from the Silent No More organization outside of the U.S Supreme Court. That is also a suggested time for people to advocate for life by visiting their state representatives or senators.

Before the March for Life Rally there will be a March for Life Conference held on Thursday, January 18th from 9-12pm at the Renaissance hotel in Washington D.C. Later on that day from 2-4pm March for Life is holding a Youth Rally at the same location. Life Site News released an article with a full list of 2018 March for Life related events taking place in D.C and in surrounding cities that week.
