You can’t make this up. Deep in HB 5468, lines 237 to 244 is a provision permitting BOEs to share private education records of homeschoolers with the State Education Resource Center (SERC). SERC will then judge whether there has been a sufficient “demonstration of equivalent instruction” by a homeschooling family. SERC is a quasi-public organization, not subject to FOI and other public disclosure laws, that actively promotes . .
boys in girls bathrooms, boys playing in girls sports, boys in girls locker rooms, oppressor/victim narratives for children, mandated preferred pronouns by children, “trauma-informed” practices in the classroom to promote LGBTQIA affirming environments, and more.

Not only does this bill have serious legal problems and drags in many students from Christian academies who are not accredited by a recognized accrediting body, but it subjects homeschoolers, many of whom are trying to escape false indoctrination by schools and protecting the religious upbringing of their students, to judgement by an organization that will not understand or appreciate their values.
