HB 6818, An Act Concerning Patient Access to Reproductive Health Care had a public hearing at the Connecticut State Capitol on Monday, March 6, 2023. The bill proposes to violate the First Amendment religious freedom of medical providers by forcing them to be complicit in abortion and contraception against their will.

In 2016, the Supreme Court refused to hear the case of a state law targeting the objections of a pharmacist based on his religion. This issue will be ripe for review if Connecticut passes this law and a religiously observant pharmacist finds themself in its crosshairs.
