Fess Up, PPSNE!
We never thought we would see the day. Planned Parenthood of Greater New York has acknowledged the racist roots of the abortion giant’s founder, Margaret Sanger.
Here is the New York Times story. And here is the reaction of our friends at the Susan B. Anthony List:
“Today’s action by Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion business and the largest population control organization in the world, is the first time in their 104-year history that they’ve acknowledged their racist roots. The next step for Planned Parenthood is recognizing that Margaret Sanger’s racist legacy continues today, as abortion continues to disproportionately impact minority communities, especially the black community. We call on Planned Parenthood to immediately publish its historical abortion data by race given indications they have skewed the placement of abortion facilities and actively target minority communities. Further, we call on Planned Parenthood to drop its fierce opposition to anti-discrimination laws that protect unborn children from being selected for abortion due to their race, sex, or disability.
“We further call on Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton to disavow and return their Planned Parenthood Margaret Sanger awards immediately. We also call on the National Portrait Gallery to relocate Sanger’s bust from its Struggle for Freedom exhibit.
“The pro-life movement will continue to fight for the legal right to life of every unborn child — regardless of their ethnicity, gender, and disability – and stand ready to lovingly assist their parents, no matter the circumstances.”
Meanwhile in Connecticut–where taxpayers pay for 75% of our state’s abortions and where Planned Parenthood of Southern New England wants even more money from our state–we have to ask:
When will Planned Parenthood of Southern New England follow New York’s example and disavow Margaret Sanger? Especially given that the abortion giant’s roots in Connecticut go directly back to Sanger herself?
And given how cozy so many politicians of both parties are with Planned Parenthood in Connecticut, when can can we expect that they, too, will morally disinfect themselves from Sanger and her toxic legacy?
